The job
Inquiry is a part of the Engineering Department and is responsible for the investigation of the technical and/or operational feasibilities of inquiries.
As an Inquiry Engineer you will work side by side with the Regional Commercial Managers, who are responsible for arranging cargo for the ships. When there are doubts or questions about the feasibilities of a shipment you will be brought in to action.
You’ll make an estimate concerning the intake (stowage), stability and lifting possibilities based upon calculations and drawings for the Jumbo fleet or a specific ship. If required you will also create a sketch in AutoCAD of the stowage-, lifting- and/or seafastening-plan(s) in order to stimulate clients in the process of booking the cargo for our ships.

The profile
• Naval Architecture and/or nautical skills are advantageous • Basic structural engineering • Basic AutoCAD skills • Extensive knowledge and experience of the Jumbo vessels and heavy lift industry • Good practical experience of cargo operations on Jumbo vessels • Knowledge of structural engineering is advantageous • Knowledge of marine engineering (vessel stability) • Fully conversant in English (verbally and in writing) • Education HBO / TU or equivalent • Competent inquiry engineer • Social team player with hands-on attitude • Keen and analytical • Pro-active • Dutch work permit obligated |
