Department/Project:

The ‘Down Stream Processing’ (DSP) department develops processes for purifying, inactivating and formulating (recombinant) viruses from fermentation medium. Novel technologies are used to make sure that the processes are cost-effective, so that the vaccines can be produced in large quantities at low costs. These processes must be safe, reliable and scalable. They are implemented in a GMP production facility for the production of clinical batches and scaled-up for commercial production.
