Functieomschrijving

The assays you perform contribute to clinical evaluation of biopharmaceutical products in clinical evaluation tracks. For immunogenecity testing purposes you use several methods related to as cell culture, immunology and virology. You do this in close collaboration with a dedicated and cosy team

As Assistant Scientist Immunology you perform experiments to analyze the immune response to vaccine products. This information is essential for clinical evaluation of products. Your work is done according to pharmaceutical guidelines and in close collaboration with a scientist or study director.


- You will independently perform the experiments for vaccine immunogenecity testing based on these study plans and lab protocols
- Typical assays that are used for this purpose are  the antibody ELISA, flow cytometry/FACS, T cell ELISpot, Intracellular Cytokine Staining, and virus neutralization assays
- The activities will be performed in a GCLP accredited lab, meaning that all activities must follow prescribed procedures and must be accurately documented in lab note books and electronic systems such as LIMS
- As Assistant Scientist Immunology you will report the data to the scientist, discuss the outcome and plan for follow up experiments. For the discussion of study plans and specifications you also communicate with study directors

For the Assistant Scientist Immunology vacancy we are looking for a motivated person with an educational background and some work experience in this field. You therefore meet the following qualifications:

- Bachelor(BSc) or HLO degree, MSc-level candidates are also considered. Very experienced candidates with a MBO degreeare also invited to apply. this is not a PhD-level role
- You have at least 1 year of relevant work experience in this field
- This experience is focused on immunological assays. You are thus experienced in antibody ELISA, Flow Cytometry (FACS), ELISPOT, T-cell assays, (immune) cell culture and virus neutralization assays
- Moreover, you preferably have experience with working in GMP/GLP and or GCP laboratories and thus know about working according to and, preferably, writing procedures (SOPs)
- If you have experience with liquid handling systems, laboratory robotincs and LIMS configuration this is considered a strong plus
- You are fluent in English. Dutch language mastery is also preferred, tough not required
