Avantium Chemicals provide research services (Services) and research laboratory equipment (Systems) for chemical companies worldwide. Our Services and Systems project teams work together with our customers in joint research and development projects in the area of catalysis. Avantium developed unique laboratory equipment to prepare and test catalysts in parallel at a very small scale, and equipment to measure properties of liquid/liquid and liquid/solid mixtures.
Avantium Chemicals is also developing technology to produce green building blocks for materials and fuels, called YXY. The technology converts biomass directly into furanics. YXY can replace oil as the raw material for fuels, car parts, clothing, carpets, water bottles and a very wide range of plastics. It uses carbohydrates as feedstock leading to green and sustainable products.
